How to run CREST
There are many ways to run CREST with young people, and we've developed the different Award levels to fit the various needs of educators and students. We also provide comprehensive free guides available for download, as well as teacher demostration videos, project ideas, introductory webinars, and many other inspirations to help you get started.
Secondary & further education
1. Plan and get started

Get tips from our getting started guide to help you or your students get started with CREST. Browse the free activities on our CREST Resource Library. Alternatively, your students can create and design their own projects. Familiarise your students with the CREST criteria for Bronze, Silver or Gold so they know what to aim for.
2. Complete and submit

Your students should complete their projects before submission. Create a free account on our application platform, Apply, to submit projects.
For Bronze, you upload a sample of the project work or a completed Bronze workbook. For Silver and Gold, you or your students upload the project work alongside a profile form of each student.
3. Apply and assess

For the Bronze Award, assess your students' projects against the Bronze criteria. Students need to meet at least 11 out of the 15 criteria to achieve the Bronze Award. Once assessed, pay for the certificates, and they will be delivered to your address.
For Silver and Gold Awards, projects are assessed by a CREST assessor. You need to pay the application fee before the project is assessed. Students must meet at least 11 of the 15 Silver or Gold criteria to earn the respective Award.
4. Achieve and celebrate!

Celebrate the incredible achievement of your students as they achieve their CREST Awards. Share your experience with us or tag us in your posts. Let's spread the joy and inspire others with your students' success!
